&lt;p&gt;With regard to the size of a block, I try to make it correspond to a natural break in the task. However, when the task is too large for that, I will often pick an abitrary time limit. Having that time limit also helps me to concentrate in the initial stages of getting back into flow. Once I&#039;m in flow, though, it is quite possible that I&#039;ll ignore/forget/be unaware of the time limit anymore.&lt;/p&gt;
